Just Liberty is dedicated to comprehensive criminal justice reform in Texas, from the traffic stop to the local county jail, the courtroom, prisons, parole, and the reentry process. We want a criminal justice system which protects families instead of disrupting them, treats everyone fairly, rewards personal responsibility, and promotes liberty, justice, and respect for human dignity.

The Texas Fair Defense Project’s mission is to fight to end the criminalization of poverty in Texas. We envision a system of justice that upholds the dignity and civil rights of all people, regardless of income, race, or gender. Through impact litigation, legislative advocacy, and education, we are working to end counterproductive, costly, and unconstitutional practices like jail time for traffic tickets and our broken money-bail system.

Survivor Justice Project

Survivor Justice Project (SJP) is a local policy advocacy group seeking system and community level transformation to address sexual violence in Austin Texas. Survivor Justice Project (SJP) is a broad based coalition of community leaders, advocates and survivors of sexual assault seeking system level change in Austin and beyond. SJP began as a coordinated community response to the APD’s DNA lab closure in June 2016.

Texas Appleseed is a public interest justice center.  We use data-driven research to identify solutions to the inequities that too many Texans face, and follow up with passionate advocacy for concrete, lasting change.

Workers Defense Project is a statewide member-based organization building power for low-wage, immigrant workers across Texas. Through education, organizing and direct services, we empower workers to win fair, safe jobs and become effective advocates for themselves and their communities.
